covid safety

Both your safety and that of my household are of paramount importance. In order to make my shiatsu sessions as safe and enjoyable as possible, I have carried out a rigorous risk-assessment which I regularly review. To conduct it I have used the recommendations given by the regulatory bodies I am a registered member of i.e. the Shiatsu Society and the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Health Council).

Members of the CNHC have been allowed to work again since July 2020, as providers of “other…health services, including services relating to mental health”. It means that if you have a mental or physical health condition or injury that is causing you pain or having an adverse impact on your mobility or quality of life, I am allowed to treat you.

Before your first visit I will send you a detailed health questionnaire asking you which aspects of your physical and/or mental health you are needing support with.

Here are the precautionary measures I have been implementing in my home clinic in Greenbank, Bristol:

PLEASE DO NOT COME IF YOU (OR ANYONE YOU ARE IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH) HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS:

-A new, continuous cough. This means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).

-High temperature (above 38°C), i.e. you feel hot to touch on your chest or back. If you have a thermometer at home please check your temperature before coming.

-A loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell, i.e. you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.

If you have any of these symptoms, however mild, please stay at home and reschedule your appointment to two weeks time.

I would be grateful if you could give me as much notice as possible, but feel free to cancel in the morning of your appointment if you wake up with these symptoms, I won't charge any cancellation fee.

THANK YOU.

Here's how we will proceed to keep ourselves as safe as possible:

-Please bring a mask and your own water bottle. If you haven't got a mask I will give you one.

-I will be wearing a FFP2 mask and sanitise before I touch your hands. I won't touch your face.

-Do not arrive before your appointment time as there will be no waiting room facilities.

-Upon arrival call me on 07845 804015 to let me know you are here. I will open and close the door for you.

-Take your shoes off downstairs then thoroughly rub your hands with the sanitizing gel I will give you.

-I have a toilet downstairs you can use but if you live locally please try and go to the loo before coming.

-Proceed straight up to the treatment room, avoiding touching anything on your way such as the banister and door handles.

-During the consultation we will be two meters apart and the window will be open.

-I will wash my hands again just before the treatment.

-If you need to cough or sneeze, please do so in your elbow and warn me before so I can keep my distance.

-Just before you leave I will give you sanitizing gel again.

Note that after each client, I will air the roomsanitize all surfaces (couch headpiece, toilet, door handles etc), and change my working clothes as well as all covers (couch, pillows and chair) which will be washed at 60 °C at the end of the day

Most importantly, I hope you'll enjoy your treatment!
