about Julie
My name is Julie F. Decarroux, BA (Hons), FwSS (Fellow Member of the Shiatsu Society)
I am a Shiatsu Practitioner and Resourcing Coach with over 24 years experience, based in Greenbank, Bristol (UK). I'm also a mum navigating my way through parenthood, which is why I feel passionate about supporting other parents.

I love creating a caring and supportive environment where people can take a break from the busy-ness of life, listen to their feelings, acknowledge their needs and regain clarity as to what they can do to feel better in their life.
Drawing from my experience of helping people with shiatsu I created “Building Resilience”, a self-care programme designed to give people the keys to their own well-being. For me this is done through becoming aware of our “resources” (what makes us feel good) and learning how to develop them in all aspects of our lives.
Originally from France I moved to England at the age of 22 to study shiatsu and never went back! I had just graduated from university, and was feeling all up in my head and very disconnected from my body. My dream in studying shiatsu was to become a more rounded individual, equally present in my body, heart and mind, and to learn what acupuncturists know but using my hands instead of needles.
I was fortunate to do my 3-year shiatsu training with the European Shiatsu School Brighton, which teaches a unique style of shiatsu, really rooted in Chinese Medicine. After graduating in 2003, I assisted my teacher Markus Grasser for another 3 years and started working as a teacher for the school in 2007. Meanwhile I kept studying with other teachers such as Tim Mulvagh (Chinese Medicine), Sonia Moriceau (quality of touch and listening skills), Eliot Cowan (Plant Spirit Medicine) and Suzanne Yates (Maternity Shiatsu).
MUSIC
I am also a jazz and folk singer appearing under the stage name Julie Abbé. I have released two albums which you can listen to on all music platforms.

"I love Julie's approach to supporting people through the challenges of navigating busy lives. Her Resourcing course was invaluable in helping me understand how to build more rest and resilience in my everyday life. I have been going to Julie for shiatsu since my child was tiny and found it helped me feel more deeply rested, grounded and balanced." BG
“Julie is warm, kind, fun and intuitive in her treatments. She has a clarity of purpose in her work and a powerful but gentle touch which is extraordinary in its effect. I got a great deal from my work with her and have continued to benefit for a long time afterwards”. ROBERT
